sideways, a step that either goes left or righ

the neck of the foot/ankle, the foot is lifted to the ankle with a pointed foot

to cut, a small step either done as a preparation or an ending to another step, usually one foot replaces the other

whipping movement, short whipped movement of the foot that can be applied to many steps for the use of momentum

a step that resembles a pas de chat except for the fact that the legs do a rond de jambe en lair in each direction

opened, indicating that the step is ended on one leg with the other still in the air, forming and opened position

passing step, the foot draws up the front/back of the legs and switches to the other side of the leg

pricking step, a step where the dancer steps onto releve

poised, a step similar to pique when the dancer performs a small developpe before steping into the desired position

shortened, a sharp bending movement of the knee to retire

raised, rising onto either demi-pointe or pointe

the bending of a body during a turn as if the body is wrapped around a pole, bending sideways and backwards

jumping- a term added to a step to indicate that it is a jumping step

to the second, the foot is placed in second position en lair or en terre

tight/close, petit battements that are smaller and beat lower on the ankle

a tight fifth position on releve

a traveling turn in sous sus

time raised, a hop from one foot to the other raised in any position

on the ground, indicating that the working leg is on the ground

along the ground- the working leg is moving on the ground

a turn of the body, a turning jump

struck battement, dancer forcefully extends leg from cou de pied in front side or back

outward, clockwise rotation

a step that is on pointe
Derriere
behind/back, a step or the placement of a limb behind the body
Battement fondue
a step where the working leg is in cou de pied and the supporting leg is in plie, both legs extend at the same time with the working leg going front, side, or back
Conditional cou de pied
a version of cou de pied where the foot is pointed on the ankle.
