What is Gesture? Give an example:
Refers to a movement of any isolated body part. e.g: flicking you hair
What is Elevation? Give an example
Actions that result in the upward change of level. e.g: A lift or jump
What is Falling? Give an example
Action that results in the downward change of level. e.g: kneeling on the floor.
What is Turning? Give an example
The amount of rotation of a body or body part
What is Travelling? Give an example
Movements dancers use to get to one place to another

The control of movement that results in holding a body part still

What is Flexibility? Give an example
Refers to the lengthening of muscles. e.g give a high kick
What is Alignment? Give an example
The dynamic and static line of gravity. e.g: Ensuring your hips are in line with your shoulders.
What is Control? Give an example
Refers to combining alignment, strength, balance and core muscles. e.g holding leg extension
What is Coordination? Give an example
Refers to putting two contrasting movements together. Performing a different movement with your legs and arms simultaneously.
What is Transference of Weight? Give an example
Transferring the weight evenly throughout body parts. e.g: Performing a cartwheel
What is Strength? Give an example
Using force while looking effortless. e.g: Performing a partner lift
What is Stamina? Give an example
Maintaining strength and fitness levels throughout the whole routine. e.g: Maintaining the same energy from the beginning to the end of the dance.
What is Balance? Give an example
Controlling stillness using core muscle strength. e.g: Holding your leg in the air while on one foot.
How many actions should a dance phrase include?

What is the first action dance phrase?
- To begin the phrase, dancers split into three groups, and we elevate a dancer into the air. They make sure their shoulders are aligned with their hips.
What is the third action dance phrase?
Then, we jump and quickly fall onto our legs to revisit the position we were at the start of the phrase.
What is the fourth action of your phrase?
From here, most dancers remain still while the other three do small gestures in time with the beat.
What is the second action of your phrase?
After that, the dancer carefully falls down. We make a triangular formation and we place our left hand on our hips while the other is gesturing a click while elevating in a circular motion.
What is the fifth action of your phrase?
To conclude, we travel back to our original spots and get ready for the next part of the dance.
