Terminology Flashcards
1
Q
Antithetical pair
A
A pair of Ag encoded by different alleles of a single gene (diff. due to SNP = diff. AA= diff. Ag)
2
Q
Haplotype
A
group of genes inherited from a single parent. Written as triplet of letters. (A genotype will have 2 haplotypes each from each parent)
3
Q
Allelic gene
A
variance of a gene caused by single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) mutation @ a specific locus i.e. 1 dNTP change = change AA = change structure
4
Q
anamnestic response
A
aka 2º immune response: enhanced IR
5
Q
alloantibidy
A
Ab against foreign Ag
6
Q
Amorph gene
A
doesn’t code for a functional enzyme (in O gene => H Ag not converted)
7
Q
Sensitised cells
A
RBC - have Ab bound to them (Ag on surface)
