Basic Empty Mass (Empty Mass) =
mass of aeroplane including all equipment required for the role of the aeroplane (pax seats etc), engine oil and unuseable fuel
Dry Operating Mass (DOM) =
mass of aeroplane ready for a specific type of operation, including crew and their baggage, catering, potable water. Excluding useable fuel and traffic load
(Basically everything needed to operate the aeroplane except pax and fuel)
Max Zero Fuel Mass =
Maximum permissible mass of the aeroplane with no useable fuel
Operating Mass (OM) =
DOM plus fuel but without traffic load
Performance Limited Landing Mass =
landing mass subject to the destination aerdrome limitations
Performance limited take-off mass =
take-off mass subject to departure aerodrome limitations
Regulated landing mass =
lowest of performance limited and structual limited landing mass
Zero fuel mass =
DOM plus traffic load but excluding fuel
Traffic load =
total mass of pax, baggage and cargo, including any ‘non-revenue’ load
Take-off mass =
ZFM plus fuel at start of take-off run
