countable nouns
things that you can count so you can make them plural boys chairs
uncountable nouns
these are nouns that you cannot count and they do not have a plural form

what is a simple sentence
a subject and a verb and can be long
why do writers use simple sentences
to emphasise a particular idea
can also hook a reader into the story and invites them to move on
minor sentence
when there is no verb but you can still understand the meaning of the sentence

compound sentences
two sentences joined together with a fanboy conjunction
what are the FANBOY conjunctions

there is also usually a comma before the conjunction

complex sentences
if you use more conjunctions than the fanboys then this is a complex sentence

AND THERE IS NO COMMA BEFORE THE CONJUNCTION

what is the exception for commas in complex sentences
however if a complex sentence starts with a conjunction then it needs a comma
