Teratology
The study of biological processes leading to abnormal development.
Critical period
time of increased sensitivity for certain body systems during fetal development
Congenital disorder
A condition existing at birth and often before birth, or that develops during the first month of life, regardless of causation

tumors that can generate structures from all 3 germ layers and often have teeth, hair, muscle, bone.
These tumors are a concerned associated with the use of embryonic stem cells.
Embryonic stem cells
The cells within a blastocyst making up the inner cell mass (ICM)/embryoblast: These are non-specialized cells that can differentiate into any cell/tissue type (pluripotent).

female germ cell involved in reproduction (egg; haploid n)
zygote
Is the initial cell formed when two gamete cells are joined by means of sexual reproduction. Formed in the Ampillary region/uterine tube/Fallopian tube
