Two or more populations of the same species that exchange genes

INTERACTING SPECIES (ex. forest stand)

What is a Biome?
A broad region in which the landscape is dominated by similar ecosystems

Group of ecosystems INTERCONNECTED by flows of energy materials and organisms
What is a Landscape?
An area of land composed of patchwork of ecosystems. (Think island + mainland)

Regions of the earths surface, atmosphere & hydrosphere occupied by living organisms

Species ecology; interactions of an individual organism or single species with the biotic and abiotic environment

The influence of the abiotic and biotic environment on the physiology of individual organisms
What is Population Ecology?
The dynamics, structure and distribution of populations
What is Synecology?
Relations between groups of organisms or coexisting biological communities
What is Community Ecology?
Interactions among individuals and populations of different species
