Urbanisation is the process of places becoming cities as people are concentrated into specific areas due to increased availability of services, employment and housing
What is spatial distribution?
Spatial distribution is the arrangement of a circumstance across earths surface
What is urban concentration?
Percentage of urban population of a country or region living in the largest cities
What is ecological sustainability?
Ability to maintain ecological balance in natural environment and conserve resources to support wellbeing of generations
What is internal migration?
The movement of people within a country
What is international migration?
The movement of people across boarders
What is an urban area?
A location with a high population density
What is a rural area?
An area located outside of cities and towns, mainly located in the countryside
What is counter urbanisation?
The proportion of a population of an urban centre that migrated to rural
What is migration?
The movement of moving from one country to another
What is a population pyramid?
A pyramid that breaks down the population by gender and age at a given point in time
What is natural increase?
The difference between a number of births and deaths over a year
What is urban growth?
Increase in the urbanised land cover
What is urban sprawl?
The name of a city growing in areas which have been unpopular so far
What are push and pull factors?
Push - factors that can push someone away from a town/city
Pull - factors that can pull someone towards living in a town/city
