Vignette
Darkens the edges of the picture
Trim
Cut some parts of the image (zoom, pan, tilt etc.) Also when change in aspect ratio
Aspect ratio
The relationship between hight and width (full, scope, flat, 16:9)
Key
Select a color or light value (uses the qualifier)
Mask
The area effected by the node (uses the windows panel)
Keyframes
you can change the nodes placement or effect with a keyframe (fade an effect out)
Balance shot
Matches different shot, so they dont look completely different/apart)
Vectorscope
Shows the hues in 360, the saturation from the center outwards (from less to most). Also have a skintone line, but it should not be followed explicit
Histogram/parade/waveform
Shows the pixel values on a scope
Contrast
difference between the brightest and darkest part of the image
Secondary vs primary
Primary (or global) affects the whole picture, secondary uses a mask or key to only make changes to a specific part of the picture. If possible keep away from secondaries
Masterclip/hero shot
One or more shots used as a reference for the rest of the scene/movie. Can also be used to test a look on the whole movie
Offset
Uses printer keys or offset wheel to make initial matching/pregrade
LUT
LookUpTable. Technical LUTs (eg. changes from one colorspace to another), Creative LUTs (eg. film LUTs, manipulates the picture in a predictable way)
Lift, gamma, gain
Other words for shadows, midtones and highlights, used for the primary wheels
