A monophonic texture is where there is a single melody line without any accompaniment or harmony.

A homophonic texture is where there is a single melody line that is accompanied by a supporting harmony or chord progression
polyphonic
A polyphonic texture is where there are multiple melody lines that are played or sung at the same time. Interweaving layers.
conjunct
A melody that moves step by step
disjunct
a melody which moves in leaps, using longer intervals than a 2nd
chromatic
chromatic harmony uses notes outside the key
Arpeggio
Arpeggios are rising and falling melodies that use the notes of a chord.
Broken chords
A broken chord is the alternation of the first, third and fifth degrees of the scale.
Scale
A scale is a set of notes ordered by increasing or decreasing pitch
Diatonic
diatonic melodies are mainly based on major or minor scales
chromatic
chromatic melodies include notes outside the key of music
atonal
atonal melodies are not based on any key or tonal centre
