A
Articles usually relate directly to a SKU in a 1:1 relationship. An article will use data such as the SKU number as well as other SKU related data like ordering#, name, price etc.

Correction Document

A

A PDF or shockwave file (SWF) which has been created from a page. In Acrobat or Web Proof, you can create different correction marks with the help of the LAGO correction tools. These marks appear automatically in the layout application when reopening the page.

A

Placeholder

A

Linked text in a catalog/flyer document where data is automatically updated via the LAGO database. The link between placeholder and the data is is persistent and can automatically update text on the InDesign document each time the page is opened. Placeholders are typically indicated in color on the screen (e.g. framed or underlined).

Roles

A

Collections of user rights. For example, a user is a member of the images role. The images role is associated with certain user rights in order to work with pictures, but has no rights with tex.

A

They act as directors for storing projects. These help to minimize the amount of effort in finding a project in the All Projects directories. For example, 2018 catalogs or 2018 retail flyers.

Sections

A

Used to divide catalogs (and sometimes flyers) to improve clarity: e.g. “Appliances” “Tools” or “Mens apparel” would be visual sections in a catalog. The allocation of a double page to a section makes it easier for the copywriters and graphic designers to find working pages that have already been created.

A

Shops are used to sort items into structure that corresponds to that of an online store.

Element Splitting

A

When an alternate presentation of an element is desired for a different market or variant, the element may be “split” and used in different variants where content, size, or position may vary while maintaining links to the database.

Variants

A

A copy of the base variant of a document that can be used to create different versions of a page for regional use or otherwise.Each variant can be manipulated separately (local) or all can be affected together (global).

Head or Main Variant

A

A version of the page that gets split when compression is run due to content differences.

Workflow

A

A status based workflow can be created for documents or media. For example, documents may have a status of planning, layout, correction, or print. Depending on the status users may have access or jobs assigned. Statuses can also trigger automated events such as correction document generation.

Working Page

A

A sequence of Adobe InDesign single or double pages. These pages can be paginated at a later stage in production when the folio page numbers are created.

A

A

A
