Terminal Velocity Flashcards
1
Q
What is Terminal Velocity?
A
When velocity reaches a constant value because the upwards force is equal to the downwards force.
2
Q
Why does a person falling with accelerating velocity increase the air resistance?
A
Because the higher their velocity, the more air particles they will be colliding with
3
Q
Why will the rate of acceleration in an object falling decrease as velocity increases?
A
As velocity increases, more air particles are colliding with the object causing the resultant force that is downward to slowly decrease.
