Scapegoat
A person who is blamed for the wrongdoings, mistakes, or faults of others, especially for reasons of expediency.
Partition
The action or state of dividing or being divided into parts.
Zionism
A movement for the re-establishment and the development and protection of a Jewish nation in what is now Israel.
Intifada
The Palestinian uprising against Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, beginning in 1987.
United Nations
An intergovernmental organization established 24 October 1945 to promote international co-operation.
Declaration of Human Rights
A declaration adopted by the United Nations General Assembly.
Violation
An action to violate someone or something.
Refugee
A person who has been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster.
Holocaust
Destruction or slaughter on a mass scale, especially caused by fire or nuclear war made to the Jewish population.
Concentration camp
A place where large numbers of people, especially political prisoners or members of persecuted minorities, are deliberately imprisoned in a relatively small area established by the Nazis.
Secretary General
A title given to the principal administrator of some organizations, most notably the United Nations.
Security Council
To maintain international peace. Its main purpose is to prevent war by settling disputes between nations.
General Assembly
The world’s forum for discussing matters affecting world peace and security, and for making recommendations concerning them.
Persecuted
To have hostility and a ill-treatment against someone, especially because of their race or political or religious beliefs.
Anti semitic
To have prejudice against, hatred of, or discrimination against Jews as a national, ethnic, religious or racial group.
