United Nations
An intergovernmental organization established 24 October 1945 to promote international co-operation.
Declaration of Human Rights
A declaration adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 December 1948 at the Palais de Chaillot, Paris.
Violation
The act of violating someone or something.
Refugee
A person who has been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster.
Holocaust
Destruction or slaughter on a mass scale, especially caused by fire or nuclear war where many Jews were murdered.
Concentration Camp
A place where large numbers of people, especially political prisoners or members of persecuted minorities, are deliberately imprisoned in a relatively small area with inadequate facilities, sometimes to provide forced labor or to await mass execution.
Secretary General
A title given to the principal administrator of some organizations, most notably the United Nations.
Security Council
Is the primary instrument for establishing and maintaining international peace. Its main purpose is to prevent war by settling disputes between nations.
General Assembly
One of the six principal organs of the United Nations and the only one in which all member nations have equal representation.
Scapegoat
A person who is blamed for the wrongdoings, mistakes, or faults of others, especially for reasons of expediency.
Persecuted
To be chased down or followed.
Anti-Semitic
To be prejudice or hostile toward Jews.
Israel
A country in Western Asia, situated at the southeastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea.
Palestine
Palestine is a geographic region in Western Asia between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River. It is sometimes considered to include adjoining territories.
West Bank
A landlocked territory near the Mediterranean coast of Western Asia, forming the bulk of the Palestinian territories.
