Declarations of Human Rights
A declaration that was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, that documents history of human rights.
Violation
Act of violating someone or something
Refugee
A person who was forced to leave due to war, persecution, or natural disaster.
Holocaust
The genocide of over 6 million Jews caused by Adolf Hitler.
Concentration Camp
An imprisonment, usually of the Jewish people, made to kill the Jews in the end
Secretary General
Head of the United Nations Secretariat, which is one of the principle organs of the UN.
Security Council
UN’s most powerful body
General Assembly
Main deliberative, policy making, and most representative organ of the UN
Scapegoat
A person who is wrongfully blamed for something they did not do/commit.
Persecuted
Mistreatment of a person or group
Anti-Semitic
Prejudice, hatred, or discrimination of the Jewish culture.
Israel
Country between Jordan and the Mediterranean Sea
Palestine
A historic region on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea
West Bank
Used to be owned by Jordan, but was captured by Israel during the Six-Day War of 1967

A letter from UK’s Foreign Secretary Arthur James Balfour to Walter Rothschild, the leader of the British Jewish community.
Zionism
A movement for the re-establishment and the development and protection of a Jewish nation in what is now Israel
Palestine Liberation Organization
An organization made to liberate all Palestinians.
Intifada
A Palestinian upbringing against the Israeli occupation of the West Bank
