The environment is our home and the quality of our environment affects all of us, no matter where we live. The environmental health problems need to be addressed and these are some things we can do to help. When you go to the toilet it is important that body waste doesn’t get into drinking water or water that will be used to bath or wash clothing and dishes. Sanitation areas should also be clean to stop the spread of disease. Water should be kept clean and purified before drinking. Make sure your home is well ventilated because some household chemicals are harmful. These products should also be stored and used carefully. Wash your hands before eating or preparing food. Also wash your hands after going to the toilet. Keep your hair and body clean and stay hygienic.
Healthy balanced diet
A balanced diet keeps you in a good mood and gives you energy. To make sure you have a good diet, you should eat food from each of the five food groups every day. Eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day. Eat five to eight portions of bread, cereals, potatoes and other grains. Eat two to three portions of milk, yoghurt, cheese and other dairy products per day. You should eat two to three servings of meat, fish, poultry, eggs and other proteins daily. Food containing fat should be eaten in small quantities and you should have no more than three servings per day.
