What is a side view?
When you look at something from the side
What is a plan view?
When you look at a small area from above
What is a map?
When you look at a large area from above. A map uses symbols and has a key.
What is a grid and a grid reference?
Grid is a pattern of squares.
A grid reference is the letters and numbers along the side and top of the grid.
What direction does a compass point?
North
What direction does the sun rise and set?
Rise - east
Set - West
Name the 4 main directions
North, South, East, West
What is a continent?
A large piece of land in the world. There are 7 continents.. Our continent is called Africa
What is a province?
Smaller pieces of country in a region. There are nine provinces in South Africa
Name the 3 main cities in Kwa-Zulu Natal
Durban, Pietermaritzburg and Ulundi
Name the ocean that is found west of South Africa
Atlantic Ocean
Name the ocean that is found east of South Africa
Indian Ocean
Name the 9 provinces
