Skeleton supports and gives shape to the body.

What is a joint?
The place in the body where bones meet.
What are vital organs?
Organs in the body that are necessary for life.
What is a limb?
Leg, arm tail
What is a trunk?
The body part that excludes the limbs
What is a shoulder girdle?
Set of bones where front limbs attach.
What is a hip girdle?
Part of the skeleton made up of hip bones that support the hind limbs.
Explain charachteristic
Something to help identify or tell something apart
What does the vertebrae skeleton protect?
Vital Organs like the brain, heart and lungs
Give a good example of how the skeleton protects the body.
Ribcage - surrounds the most important organs in the body namely, heart and lungs.
What does the skull protect?
Brain and softer parts of the face like the eyes.
What is the main function of the back bone?
Protect spinal cord that runs through the vertebrae.
What is the main function of the spinal cord?
The spinal cord sends messages from the brain to the body parts.
What makes the bones hard?
Calcium and other minerals
