Congress

Executive Branch

Legislative Branch
The legislative branch is the part of the United States government that creates laws.
Judicial Branch
The judicial branch includes criminal and civil courts and helps interpret the United States Constitution. (One of the three branches)
President
the elected head of a republican state.
Vice-President
an official or executive ranking below and deputizing for a president.
census
an official count or survey of a population.
Supreme Court
the highest judicial court in a country or state.
House of Representatives
The lower house of the United States Congress.
Senate
any of various legislative or governing bodies, in particular.
liberalism
Liberalism is a political philosophy or worldview founded on ideas of liberty and equality.
conservatism
A general preference for the existing order of society, and an opposition to efforts to bring about sharp change.
checks and balances
counterbalancing influences by which an organization or system is regulated, typically those ensuring that political power is not concentrated in the hands of individuals or groups.
democracy
a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives.
politics
the activities associated with the governance of a country or other area.
