How does Genesis 1 and 2 differ? (3)
-Eve is made of Adam’s rib in Genesis 2, whereas they were made at the same time in the ‘image’ of god in Genesis 1
-Genesis 1 is more poetic and less literal
-Genesis 2 continues on to the consumption from the tree of knowledge
Why might there be 2 accounts? (3)
-The fact that there are 2 stories means it’s not meant to be take literally; if it was, 1 story would have been enough
-Some words and parts could have been lost in translation
Genesis 1, being more poetic, could’ve been to aid worship and not for literal understanding
