Tension and metabolism,fuels Flashcards
What is Twitch?
Result of single AP
What is tetanus?
Maximal contraction sustained
How changes velocity of shortening depending of load?
As increase in load, velocity gets less
What is the result of AP?
Increase in calcium in cytosol, almost maximal
What is isotonic shortening?
Tension produced greater than load
What is isometric contraction?
When maximal load is reached , no longer can shorten muscle, but can hold
What is lenghtening contraction?
Tension less than load, contracting but muscles getting longer
Name metabolism fuels
ATP,creatine phosphate
What is fatique stare?
Way of protecting muscles frome damage.
What are the factors contributing to fatique stare?
- lots of AP firing - increase in K+ outside cell - result persistent depolarization - no another AP
- build up of metabolits which impair SR Ca+ ATPase , troponin tropomyosin complex
- build up of inorganic phosphate reduces ability to contract quickly
Aerobic metabolism
Oxydation to CO2 and h2O, required oxygen
Anaerobic metabolism
Converting glucose to lacid acid prodcuing ATP, glycolisis glucose and glycogen
Tyle of myosin
ATPase słów and fast
Predominant metabolic pathway used to form ATP
Glycolitic, oxidative, oxidative-glycolitic
Slow oxidative fibers
Slow ATPase, muscles for posture, contraction all day, not lots of force
