Imperfect avoir/être + past participle
E.g. J’avais fait

When do you use the present participle?
Saying something is ‘happenING’
Present participle stem and ending
Stem = present tense ‘nous’ form
Ending = Change ‘-ons’ to ‘-ant’
E.g. En faisant - while/by doing…
