present tense. used for regular and one time actions that happen in the present or scheduled for the future
imparfait
states or actions that were ongoing or repeated in the past. (mostly written)
passe simple
completed one time action in the past (literary)

actions in near furure/ shows an already set intention. going to___
futur anterieur
future action that will have happened by a specific time, or prediction of the past
passe compose
completed actions in past, and emphasize results of past action
le passe recent
completed actions that happened right before we talk about them(have just)
plus que parfait
something that happened before something else, always occurs before something else expressed in a different past tense.
futur simple
to talk about future plans or action and prediction about the future or if sentances
