Tendo Muscular stuffs... Flashcards
Use the LUNG tm when you see the following S/SX
Cramping & pain along the course of the channel;
When sever there is accumulation of lumps below the right lateral costal region;
tension along the lateral costal region & spitting of blood
The Large INtestine tm begins & ends
Begins at the tip of the index finger LI 1
The Large Intestine tm binds at:
at the lateral elbow
Shoulder
winds around scapula to upper thoracic spine
side of the nose
The Large Intestine tm has how many BRANCHES
1: MAIN channel terminates @ mandible on opposite side of head
2: 1st branch: winds around scapula & attaches to upper thoracic spine
3: 2nd branc asxend across the cheek to bind at the side of the nose
Patho s/sx that mean you should use Large Intestine tm
Cramping & pain along the course of the channel
Inability to raise the shoulder
Inability to turn the neck to the left or to the right
Where does the Stomach tm begin & end
Begins at the middle 3 toes
Has 3 endings:
1 - passes through the lower ribs into the spine
2- joins w/ the bladder sinew channel to form muscular net around the eye; known as the lower net (the bladder sinew channnel forms the upper net)
3- seperates at the jaw & binds in front of the ear
Where does the SPLEEN tm channel begin & end
Begins at the middle 3 toes & binds on the dorsum of the foot
Terminates at:
1-joins w/the bladder sinew channel to form a muscular net around the eye
2- separates the jaw & bind in front of the ear
where does the LUNG tm enter the chest
it enters below the axilla
where doe the LUNG tm emerge & travel to after it emerges
It emerges in the region of ST 12 & moves laterally to the shoulder
After the LUNG tm channel moves laterally toward LI 15 where does it goI
it returns to the supraclavicular ST 12 region & descends into the chest
It spreads over the diaphragm and converges in the region of the floating ribs
Where does the HT tm bind
it binds at the PISIFORM, MEDIAL ELBOW, AXILLA
What sinew channel does the HEART tm intersect
LUNG sinew
Does the HEART tm enter the chest & connect with the diaphragm
yes
are tendio muscular channels broad or narrow
Broad
Are TM channels YIN or YANG in nature
They are YANG in nature
Tendo Muscular channels all usually begin at
the jing wells
Tendo Muscular channels usually end
the head & trunk
Tendo Muscular channels contain
WEI QI the body’s first defense
What do you needle to bring WEI QI to DEFFICIENT AREAS on TM channel
You needle jing well on affected channel
What do you needle to keep/perserve energy from entering the channels
the meeting point of the meridian involved
What is purpose of acupuncture on the Tendo Muscular channels ?
In order to avoid invastion of perverse qi into other meridians
does the pulse change when there is patho in the Tendo Muscular channels
NOPE
What are the basic TX protocol options for the tm channels
adjacent points
ashi points
jing well
What common excess s/sx of tm channel
spasms contraction
pain inflammation
sensitivity to light pressure
Common deficiency s/sx of tm channel
dull deep pain
lack of skin tone
superficial cold pain on deep pressure
Tendo muscular patho’s
Dermatosis exzema warts uticaria uritis trauma neuralgia herpes zoster sciatica superficial pain muscular pain
where does the HEART tm originate & terminate
originates at the radial aspect of the little finger
terminates at the umbillicus
what to the tm channels do
nourish muscles, tendons & skin
move limbs
flex and ext
