A

When you press the brake pedal it shouldn’t feel sponges or slack.

If your breaks are working properly the car shouldn’t pull to one side.

Use a reliable pressure gauge to check and adjust pressure when the tyres are cold

A

Rigid part is at least as high as your eyes or top of your ears

Close to the back of your head and comfortable.

Some cars might not have adjustable head restraints

Turn on the dipped head lights then fog lights

Check the light on the dashboard is on

Only used when visability is seriously reduced

When you can’t see for more than 100 metres

Turn ignition on

Turn on dipped headlights and switch to main beam

Check that the main beam warning light on the dashboard is on

A

Remove the dipstick and wipe it clean

Put it back in the holder then remove again

The oil should be between the high and low marks

If it’s too low top it up but don’t overfill and you could damage the engine

Look at the high and low marks in the radiator header tank

If the levels are low top it up with a water and anti-freeze mix

When the engine is cold to avoid injury

The brake fluid must be kept between the high and low marks
