How would you check that the brakes are working before starting a journey?
As you set off the brakes should be tried. They should not feel slack or spongy nor should they pull to one side.
Where would you find the information for the recommended tyre pressure and how it would be checked?
The manufacturer’s guide would tell you.Using a reliable pressure gauge they need to be checked whilst cold, the spare must be checked too and the valve caps need to be refitted.
How would the head restraint be correctly adjusted so it provides the best protection?
Rigid part of head restraint must be as high as top of ears and close to head. It can be moved using the small button at the base.
How would you check the tyres tread depth and condition?
There must be no cuts or bulges. They need 1.6mm of tread depth across 3/4 of breadth and the entire circumference.
How would you check the headlights and taillights are working?
Turn them on using inside switch and walk around the vehicle to check.
How would you know there is a fault with your anti lock breaking system?
When turning on the engine the abs light will show and then turn off, if it remains on, there could be a fault.
How would you check the indicators are working?
Switch on the hazard light and walk around the vehicle.
How would you check the brake lights are working?
Apply the brake and use reflections in windows or ask someone to help.
How would you know the power steering is working before starting a journey?
As you start the engine light pressure applied to the steering wheel, there must be a noticeable movement which feels light.
How would you switch on rear fog lights, when would you use them?
Switch to the end rear light at bottom, when you cannot see ahead of 100m.
How would you switch headlights from dipped to main bean and how would you know main beam is on?
Switch to end indicator away, the main beam light would appear.

There is not a dipstick in this vehicle so an indicator will show on the dash.

You cannot see the brake fluid in this vehicle, a warning will show on the dash.
