Plates move away from each other. New oceanic crust formed. Earthquakes frequent, small and low hazard risk because of their location (in the ocean). Don’t trigger tsunamis.

A
Plates move towards each other. Most damaging earthquakes. Volcanoes which magma is fed by the melting of the subducting plate.
