Tectonics Flashcards
Conservative Boundary
A plate margin where the tectonic plates are sliding past each other
Constructive Boundary
A plate margin where the tectonic plates are moving apart
Convection Currents
Circulating movements of the magma in the mantle caused by the heat of the core
Core
he inner most part of the earth. It has two parts, the inner core (solid) and the outer core (liquid). The inner core is 5500⁰C
Destructive Boundary
A plate margin where the tectonic plates collide by moving towards one another
Mantle
The mantle is the molten rock layer between the core and the crust
Plates
The large pieces of broken crust that cover the Earth
Primary Effects
Impacts of a natural disaster that happen immediately or soon after the event
Response
The way in which people react to a situation e.g. an earthquake
Secondary Effects
The after effects of a disaster e.g. disease spreads due to dirty water, loss of economy due to destruction of businesses
