Q

How does a Volcano form?

A

A Volcano forms when a tectonic plate sinks into the mantle. Some of the rock melts and becomes magma, meaning the magma gets through the cracks in the surface and the lava builds up layer upon layer to form a Volcano.

Q

How does an earthquake occur?

A

1) Plates rub against each other
2) When a plate gets stuck it builds up pressure
3) One plate ‘jerks’ forward and the pressure is released causing an earthquake.
