Techniques Flashcards
What must be accomplished when an aircraft is inbound on a Jroute?
If it overlays a victor airway, the aircraft should be recleared via the radials of the victor airway. If not, an altitude must be assigned with an approach clearance.
What is an easy technique with FMN jet departures and what to be aware when doing this?
T->West. Go 1000 feet above any traffic then go direct some VOR. Watch navaid limitations.
Anytime a new clearance limit is assigned, what must be restated?
All applicable altitudes must be restated
What is a good technique to assign aircraft concerning altitudes?
Try and have the aircraft level within the bay before it gets to the next bay.
BDG departures- what need to be accomplished?
If northbound, apreq with 12. Give crossing restriction is at least 130 seven sw of DVC. Give clearance void. Give contact instructions.
PSO departures- what needs to be accomplished?
Cross 13 miles NE of DRO at or above 160. Give clearance void time. Give contact instructions.
If an aircraft is assigned something other than the SID, specify what in FMN?
The runway and the heading or radial along with the altitude if other than 110.
With opposite direction traffic waiting for DME passage, what is a good technique with altitudes.
Keep right for direction in case you need to revise an altitude. It is easier to revise than apreq IAFDOF or climbing.
When you climb an aircraft off Farminton and plan on taking it westbound to climb above traffic, look for what airways?
Look for aircraft on V210 or J110. You must use degree of divergence by assigning the departure a radial and altitude restriction.
What is a good technique after releasing an aircraft for departure or clearing an aircraft for an approach?
Offset the strip as a reminder until the aircraft is airborne. Do this as a reminder for any arrivals or any other departures. The airport is shut off unless an arrival with SYD.
Be careful with opposite direction traffic, climbing a departure above opposite direction traffic, even 50 minutes could be a deal. What are five ways to ensure separation?
- Short stop the inbound or have adjacent sector short stop the aircraft and have the departure 1000 feet above with protected restriction?
- Calculate the when the 10 minute push will occur and restrict the departure to 1000 feet above the arrival before that time.
- Reroute the departure if possible.
- Go under opposite direction traffic and get dme passage.
- Clear the departure to a clearance limit to climb above the opposite direction traffic then on course. There is only one 10 min push instead of two.
Preplanning. Try and move the arrivals and where in comparison to each other?
Before the problem starts, coordinate to move the arrivals below the overflights and the overflights above the arrivals.
What can you consider with overflights? What is one of the first things to consider?
Can the overflight be detoured around my airspace or climb above it. If climbing above, much coordination must be accomplished.
With opposite direction traffic over ALS or ABQ, what is an option?
Keep in mind V68 in place of V187 or V368 in place of V210.
