A

For wrist sensitivity, students can come further back from the bar with their supporting foot on the floor under their hip. Angle their torsos diagonally forward towards the bar and cue them to still take an underhand grip.

A

Prenatal students may do zinger for as long as they are comfortable. They will have to most likely come much higher, almost to standing. At some point, they may also need to come further back from the bar and modify as described above.

False. A good HOA is to bend students forward at the hips, so they are diagonally angled towards the bar by putting one hand on their hip and one hand on their mid-back. Students’ torsos should not be vertical in zinger.

In which seat exercises may students stand on a rise mat? (May/June 2019)

A

Risers may only be used in seatwork to stand on in standing seat and waterski seat. The reason the riser cannot be used to stand on in other seat exercises is because the angle of the torso can cause the ankle to roll in certain situations. To err on the side of caution, please encourage those that are uncomfortable with the bar height to use the stall bar or modify with another exercise.

A

It is okay to have students place their props in the middle of the mat to allow students to rest their forearms and head on the carpet. Some students may get hot breathing into the mat and this will give them some space. Know that you can also have students place the riser(s) under the large mat if they want a little more padding for their upper body as it rests on top of the riser.
