Technical Specifications Flashcards
What are the required actions if SL’s are violated in Mode 1 or 2?
Restore compliance and be in mode 3 within 1 hour
What are the required actions if SL’s are violated in Mode 3,4 or 5?
Restore compliance within 5 minutes
What is the basis for SL?
Prevent overheating of the fuel and cladding, as well as possible cladding perforation.
What does LCO 3.0.1 state?
LCO shall be met in mode of applicability
What does LCO 3.0.2 state?
Upon discovery of failure to meet an LCO the required actions shall be met
What does LCO 3.0.3 state?
Mode 3 within 7 hours, Mode 4 within 13 hours, Mode 5 within 37 hours
What does LCO 3.0.4 state?
When LCO is not met, entry into a mode can of applicability can only be made if:
1) Associated actions permit continued operation
2) A risk assessment is performed
Does LCO 3.0.4 apply to 3.8.1.b
No - A risk assessment cannot be performed for the EDGs
What does LCO 3.0.5 state?
Equipment declared ions to comply with actions may be returned to service to demonstrate operability
What does LCO 3.0.6 state?
Inoperability is not cascaded to support systems. SFD must be performed
What does LCO 3.0.7 state?
Physics testing
What does LCO 3.0.8 state?
A system is not declared inoperable due to an inoperable HELB barrier (i.e. AFW)
What does SR 3.0.1 state?
Failure to meet the SR shall be failure to meet the LCO
What does SR 3.0.2 state?
Specified frequency is met if the surveillance is performed within 1.25 times the interval specified
What does SR 3.0.3 state?
IF surveillance is not performed within specified frequency, then compliance to declare the LCO not met may be delayed 24 hours or the interval of the surveillance. A risk eval must be performed.
