Flexibility
The range of movement of a particular muscle or joint
Strength
The dynamic force of movement.
The force you can exert in a singular muscle contraction.
Alignment
The relationship of lines within the body, the
co-ordination of the movement line of a dancer’s body
Balance
The ability to be stable through the equalising of opposing forces, a strong vertical line of energy
Posture
A way of holding the body which gradually develops through using balance and gravity.
Mobility
Occurs in two kinds: stable and labile.
- labile means movements which tend to take the body off-balance through oblique directions.
-stable is the use of the body in the directions of forward, backwards, up, down, left and right.
Stamina
Enduring physical or mental energy and strength that allows somebody to do something for a long time
