Dangling modifier
The modifier does not belong in the sentence (different subject)
Misplaced modifier
When the word you don’t intend on being modified is causing it to be misplaced
Comma splice
When a comma is not in the right place. Causing it to split up two different subjects
Redundancy
Is when something is heavily repeated in a sentence
Sentence fragment
When there is no subject or verb in the sentence. Making it an incomplete sentence
Nym: homonym
A word that has the same sound or spelling as another word. Just different meaning
Nym: acronyms
Abbreviation formed from the initial components in a phrase or a word.
Nym: antonym
Words that mean opposite
Nym: synonym
A word having the same or nearly the same meaning as another
Example- big,large,huge
Active voice
Sentence with an action, verb the subject performs the action denoted by the verb
Passive voice
Being acted upon by the verb or passive
Pleonasm
Redundant phrasing
Example- ATM “automatic teller machine machine”
