Also called extreme wide shots such as a large crowd scene or a view of scenery as far as the horizon.
Extreme Long Shot
A view of a situation or setting from a distance
Wide/Long Shot
A view of a figure’s entire body in order to show action and/or a constellation group of characters
Full shot
Intermediate between full shot and medium shot shows subject from the knees up.
Medium Long Shot (a.k.a 3/4 Shot)
Shows part of the in more detail, typically frames them from about waist up. This is a common shot seen in films, as it focuses on characters and still shows some environment.
Medium Shot
Falls between a Medium shot and a Close-up, generally framing the subject from chest/shoulder up.
Medium Close Shot
A full-screen shot of a subject face showing the finest nuances of expression.
Close-up shot
A variant of a close-up, this shot frames the subject’s face from above the eyebrows to below the mouth.
Choker
A shot of a hand, eye, mouth or any object in detail.
