What is the metaverse?
A digital reality that combines aspects of SM, online gaming, AR, VR and cryptocurrencies to allow users to interact virtually.
A persistent virtual world where people can work, play, and shop from anywhere using a virtual reality headset, augmented reality glasses, a phone, or any other compatible device.
What is the difference between AR & VR?
VR creates its own cyber environment,
AR adds to the existing world as it is.
What is AR?
AR uses the existing real-world environment and puts virtual information on top of it to enhance the experience.
Involves overlaying visual, auditory, or other sensory information onto the world in order to enhance one’s experience.
What is VR?
Allows users to live in an entirely different virtual environment created and rendered by computers.
What is XR?
Mix between AR & VR (Mixed Reality)
Blending the physical world with the digital world.
What does decentralised mean?
Meaning no ultimate authority holds power over it.
How does a blockchain work?
It allows digital information to be recorded and distributed, but not edited.
What are blockchains also known as?
Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT)
Why are blockchains known as DLT?
Because their ledgers are immutable.
Meaning records of transactions cannot be altered, deleted or destroyed.
How do blockchains store data?
In blocks that are then linked together via cryptography
A database/ledger that stores information electronically in digital format
What is a Blockchain
What is a NFT?
Non Fungible Token
Unique cryptographic token that exist on a blockchain and cannot be replicated.
What is the main difference between NFTs & cryptocurrencies?
Cryptocurrencies are fungible - meaning they can be traded or exchanged.
