1- Reinforce sentence structure (Always use gap sentences).
2- Help your students crack their own work by asking them why they think they got an answer wrong, or even why they got it right.

When your students are at a more advanced level, start teaching them writing structure, like an introductory paragraph, the main body of a text, and conclusions.
Examples :
Ask your students to write essays on subject subjects they like, write letters to friends who live away, or ask them to write a one page story.

1- Avoid the use of contractions.
2- Turn on you slang/idioms.
3- Focus on formal sayings/words: sir/madame, therefore, due to, thus, kind regards, etc.

Ask students to keep a daily journal. It will help with their spelling, and mark their improvement. When students get more advanced, ask them to correct their own past work.
