1. Reverse flow - at the root of the retreating blade is an area where the air flows backward from the trailing edge to the leading edge of the blade. This is due to win created by forward AirSpeed being greater than rotational velocity at this point on the blade.
2. Negative stall- rotational velocity exceeds forward flight velocity causing resultant relative wind to move toward the leading edge. The resultant relative wind is so far above the cord line a negative AOA above the critical AOA results. The blade stalls with a negative AOA.
3. Negative lift - rotational velocity induced flow and blade flapping combine to reduce AOA from a negative stall to an AOA that causes the blade to produce negative lift.

Discuss the hot start prevention system

Part of the DEC. It prevents over temp during engine starts. It receives NP NG and TG signals. When n p and NG are below their respective hot start reference and TGT exceeds 900° c and output from the HSP system activates a solenoid in the ODV. This shuts off fuel flow and causes the engine to shut down. It requires 400 HZ 120 BAC helicopter power be provided to the DEC. Pilot can disable the HSP system by pressing and holding either ENG OVSP TEST A/B button for the engine being started during the start sequence.
