What are behavior support techniques? Name 5 examples of behavior techniques.

A

Behavior support techniques are one of the many de- escalation techniques that help a child reduce stress and risk and help the child to self regulate. Each technique is designed to support the child’s needs and meaning of the child’s behavior.

Mismatched behavior support techniques to the patient’s needs can escalate the situation.
