Airspeed – 86 KIAS to 70 KIAS (Light)
Fuel Pump Switch – ON
Fuel Knob – SWITCH TANKS
Turn – NEAREST LANDING
Throttle – 1/2 OPEN
Fuel Gauges – CHECK
Mags – LEFT / RIGHT / BOTH
Starter – AS NEEDED
Mixture – IDLE CUTOFF / (SLOWLY) / FULL RICH
Low Oil Pressure
Oil Warn Light – ON
Oil Pressure Gauge – CONFIRM RED/LOW
Prop – CONFIRM UNREGULATED (HIGH RPM)
Throttle – REDUCE AS FAR AS POSSIBLE
Turn – NEAREST LANDING
Mixture – CONSIDER OFF BEFORE SEIZE
Engine Vibration
Carb Temp – CARB HEAT AS NEEDED
Mixture – CHECK FOR EXCESSIVE RICH
RPM – SET FOR MINIMUM VIBRATION
Turn – NEAREST LANDING
Propeller Governor Fail
Oil Pressure – See Low Oil Pressure
Airspeed – REDUCE
RPM – GRADUAL CHANGES <2700 RPM
Engine Fire During Start
Mixture – IDLE CUTOFF
Start – CONTINUE CRANKING
Throttle – FULL
Fuel Selector – OFF
Mags – OFF
Cabin – EVACUATE AND EXTINGUISH FIRE
Engine Fire In Flight
Fuel Selector – OFF
Mixture – IDLE CUTOFF
Fuel Pump Switch – OFF
Throttle – FULL
Cabin Air Cooling & Demisting – FIRE CUTOFF
Mags – OFF
ALT Switch – OFF
Turn – NEAREST LANDING, EMERGENCY DESCENT (FLAPS FULL, SLIP, 80 KIAS)

Fire Extinguisher – DEPLOY AS NEEDED
If Fire Extinguished …

Circuit Breakers – IDENTIFY FAULTY CIRCUIT (DO NOT RESET)
Cabin Air Cooling & Demisting – CLEAR SMOKE & EXTINGUISHER GAS
Wing Fire
Nav And Landing Lights – OFF
Pitot Heat Switch – OFF
Turn – NEAREST LANDING, EMERGENCY DESCENT (FLAPS FULL, SLIP, 80 KIAS)
Icing
Carb Heat – ON
Pitot Heat Switch – ON
Cabin Heat – FULL HOT
Cabin Demisting – FULL HOT
RPM – MAX POWER, VARY RPM PERIODICALLY
Fly – EXIT ICING CONDITIONS (NO FLAPS, STALL SPEED IS HIGHER)
Landing Without Stabilator Control
Fly – USE PITCH TRIM AND THROTTLE <500 FPM
Airspeed – 80 KIAS
Flaps – LANDING
Fuel Pump – ON
Mixture – FULL RICH
Prop – HIGH RPM
Landing – FLARE WITH PITCH TRIM (NO CHANGE IN THROTTLE UNTIL ON RUNWAY)
Radio Master Switch Fail
R.M. Switch CB – OPEN (RESTORES POWER TO RADIOS)
Aileron Control Fail
Fly – USE RUDDER FOR LATERAL CONTROL
Flaps – RETRACT
Land – FLAPS RETRACTED, 80 KIAS
Electrical Failure
Circuit Breakers – CHECK, RESET ONLY ONCE
ALTERNATOR FAIL
ALT Warning Light – ON
Voltmeter – GREEN (CONTINUE)
YELLOW/RED (ALT Switch OFF THEN ON)
() ALT Warning Light – STAYS ON
ALT Switch – OFF
ALT CB – PULL OFF
Check ALT FLD CB – RESET
ALT Switch – ON
ALT CB – PUSH ON
ALT Warning Light – STAYS ON
BUS 2 CB – PULL OFF (REPEAT FROM ())
BUS 3 CB – PULL OFF (REPEAT FROM (*))
ALTERNATOR POWER STILL NOT RESTORED
Transponder – SQUAWK 7600 / 7700
Non Essential Electric Items – OFF
Battery Life – <40 MINUTES, LAND
Airspeed Indicator Fail
Pitot Heat Switch – ON
Alt. Static Knob – PULL (OPEN AIR OUTLETS TO MINIMIZE ERRORS)
Prop – HIGH RPM RECOMMENDED
Spin Recovery
Verbalize – “PARE”
Throttle – IDLE CUTOFF
Ailerons – NEUTRAL
Rudder – FULL OPPOSITE ROTATION
Stabilator – FULL FORWARD
Flaps – RETRACT IF SET
ROTATION STOPS, THEN IMMEDIATELY …
Rudder – NEUTRAL

Stabilator – EASE OUT OF DIVE, ADD POWER BACK IN
