TASER 7 CONSIDERATIONS
before drawing and during use of Taser you should continually assess the situation, whilst always having a back-up plan
T7 cartidge 3.5 degree angle stand off (SO) Cartidge -
30cm spread for every 3.3 metres of travel
Prefered target zones
The back is the most preferred target area when reasonably practicable because it contains larger muscle groups and reduces risk of hitting sensitive body areas.
The back/rear of the body is the preferred target zone.
Secondary Target zone
The front of the body is the secondary target zone
One probe above and one probe below the waistline
Criterion to Draw and Cover with CEW
Do not draw your taser, point or aim it unless you consider you are likely to be justified in using it.
The taser must be immediately armed upon removal from the holster
Taser should not be used in any mode
against a mental health patient solely to make them submit to medication or treatment
Taser should not be used unless exception circumstances exist
On an elderly or disabled subject(s)
Single Cycle of the taser
lasts 5 seconds, if the need another cycle, the Arc switch will need to be pressed or the trigger needs to be pulled a second time for the second probes to be discharged.

When are ambulance called for discharging a taser?
On all occassions when a subjected has been tasered.
