TASER 7 Flashcards
Flashcards
What term is used by TASER training to describe the incapacitating effects of a TASER energy weapon on a subject?
Neuromuscular Incapacitation
What parts of the Nervous System does NMI effect? HINT: There are 2 parts
Both the sensory and motor nervous systems
What are the preferred target areas for TASER 7 probes? Name areas to avoid?
Target the Back, Lower Torso, Legs…
Don’t target head, eyes, throat, neck, upper chest / heart
One of the 5 key safety guideline is to be aware of sensitive populations of people. What are some examples of sensitive populations?
1) Elderly
2) Pregnant women
3) Young children
4) Super skinny / malnourished people
TRUE OR FALSE: IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THE TASER 7 BE KEPT IN A HOLSTER THAT ENGAGES THE SAFETY SWITCH WHEN NOT IN USE
TRUE
When TASER 7 is armed, what happens with the energy weapon?
1) The CID turns on
2) LASER / flashlight options
3) Event record begins in event log
When armed, the SAFETY is shifted in which direction? Up or Down?
Safety is shifted UP when armed
What does CID stand for?
Central Information Display
On a full charge, how many trigger pulls is the TASER 7 capable of? And how many arc switch activations?
100 trigger pulls and 50 arc switch activations
A single trigger pull and release will discharge an electrical charge for how many seconds? What will happen if you continue to hold down the trigger?
5 seconds. If you continue to hold down the trigger, then it will continue electrical discharge until released.
What is the functionality of the ARC SWITCH pre-deployment and post-deployment of the cartridge?
The arc switch will initiate a warning arc (pre-deployment)
The arc switch will re-energize both cartridges for 5 seconds (post deployment)
What is the Pulses per Second or PPS if only one cartridge of the TASER 7 is deployed? What about if 2 are deployed?
22 PPS and 44 PPS
How do you enable STEALTH MODE on the TASER 7
Step 1) Switch to SAFE
Step 2) Press and hold BOTH arc switched for 10 sec
Step 3) Move safety switch to ARMED
What is the main difference between the Close Quarters Cartridge and the Stand Off Cartridge?
Close quarters is 12 degree angle. Stand Off is 3.5 degree angle.
What does the Red Cap and Blue Cap indicate for TASER 7 cartridges?
Red = INERT and Blue = Training Cartridge
Please explain what TILT SELECT is?
Tilt select is a TASER 7 feature that enables operators to quickly select between STAND OFF and CLOSE QUARTERS cartridges.
Describe what happens when the TASER 7 rechargeable battery pack is put into the docking station?
1) Uploads weapon data automatically to E.COM
2) Firmware updates
3) Recharges battery
4) Tests and record battery capacity
Once fully recharged and all data uploaded to Evidence.com, then the LED on the dock next to the battery will indicate SOLID GREEN
Axon Evidence automatically passes information to Axon Dock every BLANK MINUTES. Rechargeable battery packs much be left in the dock for a MINIMUM of BLANK minutes.
30 minutes!
Also, it takes BLANK hours to charge from depleted to FULL. Axon recommends recharging every BLANK days.
BLANK = 8 hours and 30 days!
The ARC SWITCH cannot be used to do which of the following:
1) Initiate a warning arc
2) Toggle between cartridges
3) Re-energize deployed cartridges
4) all of the above
2) Toggle between cartridges
How many microphones does the AB4 have?
3 on the front, 1 on the back
TRUE or FALSE: The FLEX POV camera provides a second additional point of view to the body camera and both record simultaneously to provide both perspectives
FALSE.
How many times must you press “WATCH ME” to initiate?
2x press button on top left of AB4
What is one of the main differences between the AB3 and AB4
Improved battery life
Bi-directional communication
POV camera module
Charges twice as fast
4:3 aspect ratio (more vertical FOV)
16:9 increased 143 degrees to 160 degrees FOV
Onboard storage is doubled 64GB to 128GB
Double RAM: 2GB to 4GB
More robust disk encryption: now XTS-AES 256 bit
