The following are situations where a Taser should not be used unless exceptional

17
Q

What are the seven situations where a taser should not be used? (Unless in exceptional circumstances exist)

(CHEF POD)

H - Someone who is HANDCUFFED.

E - ELDERLY or disabled

F - Someone FLEEING

P - Female who you suspect on reasonable grounds to be PREGNANT.

O - Occupants of vehicle or operator of machinery where there is danger.

19
Q

In Single Cycle the Taser 7 shuts down the output of the Taser after 5 seconds and contains a built-in speaker that alerts the operator to the impending shut down. If the operator needs an additional cycle, the……

A

The Arc Switch will need to be pressed or the trigger needs to be pulled a second time for the second probes to be discharged.

20
Q

After how many cycles must police consider the effectiveness of the Taser as the most appropriate tactical option and must consider alternative tactical options.

A

When the Taser is pointed at a subject and the Arc Switch is pressed.

23
Q

Probes Discharged occurs when?

A

Occurs when:

Taser trigger is pulled

Probes are released from the cartridge

Will achieve NMI if the probes attach properly to a subject and make an adequate circuit

24
Q

Drive Stun occurs when?

A

Applying direct contact of the electrodes of the Taser to a subject

With or without a cartridge attached to the device

The device is discharging a cycle.
