Q

Summary of tally’s blood

A

Tally’s Blood is set in Glasgow and Italy in the period before, during and after WW2. It focuses on Italian immigrants Massimo and Rosinella Pedreschi, and their niece Lucia, who they have brought up. During the play, their lives are thrown into turmoil by the war, and the play focuses on Rosinella’s views about the country she grew up in, and the country where she now lives. Di Mambro explores the theme of prejudice through the character of Rosinella, particularly her negative opinions about two Scottish characters, Bridget, and Hughie Devlin. Ultimately, Rosinella is forced to confront her prejudice and is shown that it is wrong.
