Staging Area

A

Implemented when the IC determines the need to have additional resources in close proximity to the emergency. The staging area provides a location outside the operational are where it will not obstruct incident access. Units will announce their arrival and await orders from Command. On larger incidents, or when Command determines the need, a specific location will be designated for staging.

Level 1 Staging

A

Takes place except for the first arriving suppression, rescue, and battalion. All other units will stage in their direction of travel, uncommitted, approximately one block from the scene until assigned by IC. Units responding to commercial or residential complexes will stage outside the complex unless advised otherwise by the IC.

Prompt the unit to establish command and and report the conditions found.
