Tack Spread Rate Flashcards
What is the SECOND step when calculating the TACK spread rate after the before and after tank reading are taken?
Calcualting the LF covered in the tack run – THEN – converting the LF to SY.
BEFORE/AFTER/AMOUNT OF HOT GALLONS
What is the FIRST step (encompasses 3 separate steps) when calculating the TACK spread rate?
(USING CALIBRATION CHART FROM THE TRUCK)
1) Get an Initial measurement of the amount of tack from the truck BEFORE the run.
2) Get a post measurement of the amount of tack AFTER the tack run.
3) CALCULATE THE NUMBER OF HOT GALLONS USED FROM THE 2 VALUES
1) Find __ factor + 2) __ x Correction Factor
What do you do with the TOTAL amount of HOT GALLONS used?
(CALCULATING GALLONS AT 60 DEGREES F)
(2 Separate Steps)
(USING THE CONVERSION CHART)
1) Find the correction factor for the temp of tack being used.
2) Multiply the HOT GALLONS by the CORRECTION FACTOR
Gives you the tack amount used at 60 F
Gallons __ / SY Covered
What is the LAST spread rate calculation you perform to get the GAL/SQ YD?
Gallons Used at 60 F
_______________________
SY Covered
+- __ gal/SQ YD
What is the tolerance difference between the TARGET spread rate and the ACTUAL spread rate?
+- 0.1 gal/SQ YD
