T5 Animation & T7 Digital Video Flashcards
What is ANIMATION?
Illusion of motion created by the consecutive of images of static elements
What is the PURPOSE of animation?
Enhance the experience of user to further understand the information
What is the USAGE of animation?
Artistic purpose, storytelling, displaying data
What are the 3 animation TECHNIQUES?
Cell animation, stop-motion, computer animation
What is CELL animation?
series of different graphics are used on each frame
What process is involved in cell animation? Explain.
Frames between keyframes are drawn in TWEENING PROCESS, means that the action takes place between keyframes
What is the PENCIL TEST in cell animation for?
To check the smoothness, continuity and timing
What is STOP-MOTION animation?
Physically manipulating real-world objects and photograph.
What are the examples for stop-motion animation?
Puppet animation, clay animation, cutout animation
What is COMPUTER animation?
Same logic and procedural as cell animation but the difference is that how much is drawn by the animator and how much is automatically generated by the software. (2D and 3D)
What is KINEMATICS?
Study of the movement and motion of structures that have joints, layers, keyframes and tweening.
What is the DIFFERENCE between Animation and Digital Video?
- Animation is restricted to ARTIFICIAL image while Digital Video is composed of image ftom NATURAL scenes.
- Animation is CREATED entirely by computer processing while Digital Video is often CAPTURED using analogue and digitised for storage
What are the steps for VIDEO CREATION?
- video capture
- video editing
- playback
Why does image data and sound data must be stored together in the same file?
Sound data must be synchronised with the visual data to be effective.
What are the two TYPES of video editing? State the difference.
LINEAR and NONLINEAR.
LINEAR editing means that the editing of analogue videos is constrained by the sequential of the medias while NONLINEAR means that the digital video can be accessed randomly
