what is a system?
a group of organs or tissues that work together in association with a specific body function.
what is the skeletal system
the framework of bones forming a skeleton.
what is the lymphatic system
also called the immune system that fights infections and maintains body fluid protecting the body
what components are included in the lymphatic system
lymph nodes, tonsils, the thymus gland, spleen, adenoids and white blood cells in lymph fluid
what is the muscular system
the tough coverage attached to the skeleton controlling movement and some internal organs
what is the cardiovascular system
the pumping of blood through the body providing oxygen to organs and tissues and removing their waste
what is the nervous system
this is the brain delivering and receiving information through a network of nerves and the spinal chord
what is the reproductive system
production of sperm and eggs to reproduce and create new life
what is the endocrine system
glands and cells producing messages called hormones helping control processes in the body
what is the respiratory system
your lungs absorbing oxygen through breathing which is taken into the blood. also exhaling carbon dioxide
what is the urinary system
kidneys making urine and processing waste maintaining mineral balances in the body
what is the digestive system
processing food from the mouth to the anus whilst absorbing nutrients and excreting waste
what is the integumentary system
covering the whole body consists of skin, hair, nails, all protect our body and other systems
