family system

ownership system
Interdependency
This concept highlights that all components of the system are interconnected and interact with each other, and that every event / sub-system is interdependent with other events / sub-systems.
Boundaries
refer both to the quality of the connections and the separation between the components of a system (e.g. sub-systems).
Differentiation
the result of seeing oneself as a distinct entity and not just a fusion of the family system.
Homeostasis
refers to the ability of any living system to maintain a degree of stability while still being able to adapt and change.
first order change
Incremental or first order changes require less time and effort and typically does not stimulate a great deal of resistance
second order change
Second order changes often require significant paradigm shifts on the part of the client. They are being asked to think, feel, and behave in very different ways. This type of change may take a significant amount of time and energy—and it may not even be possible given the characteristics and resources of the client.
Triangulation
are used to describe the tendency of two people who are unable to resolve a conflict (or who are experiencing distress in their relationship) to involve a third person, entity or process.
Scapegoating
the term refers to the person or object that is blamed for a broader system-wide problem
Resistance
is one of the ways we all protect ourselves from change or of dealing with fear of the unknown during change
