Q

Premises of Models

A

1) Believed that mental phenomena reflects social phenomena. A mental problem is really a problem of social interaction.
2) Model built on circular epistemology. Family members seen as caught in recursive patterns. Therefore, therapist, without moral stance must remain neutral, so family can explore alternatives for change.
3) Linear thinking is incomplete, doesn’t take into account whole system.
